.txt only · processed in your browser
TXT to PDF is for meeting notes, server logs, and plain drafts saved as .txt when you need a printable PDF and those characters should not leave this device. It is a Local tool: one text file stays in the browser; pdf-lib wraps lines onto A4 or Letter pages with Helvetica. Paragraph breaks and blank lines stay. Long lines wrap to the margin. A form-feed character starts a new page. Tabs become four spaces. This is not a word processor: there are no headings, tables, or custom fonts. Helvetica draws Western European letters, numbers, and common punctuation. Arabic, Cyrillic, CJK, and emoji stop the job with an error instead of a PDF full of missing glyphs. The reverse job — copying a PDF text layer to .txt — is PDF to Text. HTML or a public web address uses HTML to PDF and uploads. Photos belong on JPG to PDF.
This tool is free to use.
Files stay on this device.
How to turn a text file into a PDF
- Add one .txt file. Processing stays on this device — the file is not uploaded.
- Confirm TXT to PDF is Local — pdf-lib paginates in a Web Worker; the file is not uploaded.
- Choose A4 or Letter, portrait or landscape, and a font size (10, 11, 12, or 14).
- Process. Blank lines stay as gaps. Characters Helvetica cannot draw stop the job with an error.
- Download the PDF and check the preview. Lock it with Protect PDF or stack it with Merge PDF — both stay Local. Shrink a later image-heavy packet with Compress PDF (uploads). Browse sibling jobs on the PDF hub.
TXT to PDF FAQs
Does the file leave this device?
No. This is a Local tool. The .txt file is paginated with pdf-lib in a Web Worker on your device and is not uploaded.
Will Arabic, Russian, or emoji show up?
No. The page uses Helvetica, which draws Latin letters, numbers, and common punctuation. Arabic, Cyrillic, CJK, and emoji stop the job with an error instead of a broken PDF. This page does not embed those scripts.
How is this different from PDF to Text?
This page builds a PDF from a .txt file. PDF to Text reads a text layer that is already inside a PDF and downloads .txt. Both stay Local. A scan with no text layer still needs OCR PDF, which uploads.
How is this different from HTML to PDF?
HTML to PDF uploads an HTML file or a public address and renders it on the server. This page accepts plain .txt only and stays on this device. It does not apply CSS or HTML tags.
Are line breaks kept?
Yes. Paragraph breaks and blank lines stay. Lines wider than the page wrap at the margin. Tabs become four spaces. There are no columns, styled headings, or tables.
What if the file is empty or huge?
An empty file stops with an error. Notes longer than about 250 pages or 1.5 million characters also stop, so the browser tab stays responsive.
Can I password the PDF after?
Yes. Download the PDF, then set an open password with Protect PDF — that stays Local. To combine it with other PDFs, use Merge PDF. Compress PDF is a different job and uploads.
