TIFF to JPG is for a scan, a print export, or a camera TIFF that email and most web forms will not accept — when you need ordinary JPEG and the original must stay on this device. It is a Local tool: up to ten .tif or .tiff files decode with UTIF.js in a Web Worker and encode as JPEG. A multi-page TIFF writes one JPG per page (up to 40) and downloads a ZIP when there is more than one file. Transparency flattens onto white because JPEG has no alpha. This page does not read JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, or HEIC. AVIF to JPG is the AVIF job. Convert Image is JPG, PNG, and WebP only. Apple HEIC uses HEIC to JPG, which uploads.

How to convert TIFF to JPG

  1. Add one to ten .tif or .tiff files. Processing stays on this device.
  2. Confirm TIFF to JPG is Local — decode and JPEG encode run in a Web Worker; files are not uploaded.
  3. Set JPEG quality. Transparent pixels flatten onto white. Each page of a multi-page TIFF becomes its own JPG.
  4. Process. A file that is not a TIFF stops with an error and is not rewritten as a picture of the bytes.
  5. Download one JPG, or a ZIP when several pages or files were converted. To shrink the JPG afterward, use Compress Image. More still tools live on the Images hub.

Does the file leave this device?

No. TIFF to JPG is a Local tool. Decode and encode run in a Web Worker on your device. The file is not uploaded.

What if the file is not a TIFF?

The page accepts .tif and .tiff names. The worker also checks the TIFF header. A PNG, JPG, or other file stops with “This file is not a TIFF.” Nothing is invented from the bytes.

What about a multi-page scan?

Each page becomes one JPG, up to 40 pages. One page downloads as a single JPG. Several pages download as a ZIP. Pages beyond 40 stop with an error.

Where did transparency go?

JPEG has no alpha. Transparent pixels are flattened onto white before encoding.

How is this different from AVIF to JPG?

AVIF to JPG reads AVIF only. This URL reads TIFF only. Convert Image does not read either format.

How is this different from HEIC to JPG?

HEIC to JPG is for Apple HEIC and uploads the file. A TIFF stays on this device.

Will the JPG match the TIFF pixel size?

Yes. Width and height stay the pixel size stored in the TIFF. Quality changes file weight and detail, not the dimensions.
