PNG to ICO is for a site favicon or a Windows icon when you already have a PNG logo. It is a Local tool: this device builds one ICO that holds four PNG sizes — 16, 32, 48, and 256 pixels. A wide or tall logo is centered in each square with empty space around it, not stretched. This is a real ICO directory, not a renamed PNG. Start from SVG to PNG when the artwork is still a vector. Use Resize first only if you want to crop the PNG yourself.
This tool is free to use.

How to make an ICO from a PNG
- Add a PNG. It stays on this device.
- Read the note: the file will contain 16, 32, 48, and 256 pixel images.
- Create the ICO. Each size is drawn from your PNG and packed into one icon file.
- Download the .ico file. Several PNGs download as a ZIP of ICO files.
- Use PNG to WebP or PNG to JPG when you need a picture, not an icon.
PNG to ICO questions
Does the PNG get uploaded?
No. The icon is built in a worker on this device.
Which sizes are inside the ICO?
16, 32, 48, and 256 pixels. Each one is a PNG stored in the ICO, which Windows and current browsers accept.
What happens to a rectangular logo?
It is scaled to fit inside the square and centered. It is not stretched to fill the square.
Is a renamed PNG an ICO?
No. This page writes an icon directory with four images. The file starts as an ICO, not as a PNG with a new extension.
Can I start from an SVG?
Yes. Make the PNG with SVG to PNG, then come back here. Both pages stay on this device.
Can I choose different icon sizes?
No. Every ICO from this page contains 16, 32, 48, and 256. Those four are written every time.
What if I add several PNGs?
Each PNG becomes its own ICO, and the download is a ZIP of those icon files.
