Trim Audio cuts an MP3, or another audio file this page accepts, down to a start and end time and saves a new MP3. It is Local under about 100 MB, with the same ffmpeg.wasm family as Trim Video. Trim Video stays a video tool: it writes an MP4. This page writes audio only. The cut is a re-encode, so the file is shorter than the range you kept, not a renamed copy of the whole song. Audio to MP3 converts a whole file without cutting. MP4 to MP3 pulls sound out of a video.

How to trim an MP3

  1. Add an MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, or OGG file under about 100 MB. It stays on this device.
  2. Set the start and end. The end must be after the start.
  3. Confirm this is Trim Audio, not Trim Video.
  4. Process. ffmpeg.wasm re-encodes that span as MP3.
  5. Download the shorter MP3. To take sound from a movie instead, use MP4 to MP3 or Extract Audio.

Does the audio get uploaded?

No, under about 100 MB. A larger file is not accepted. The cut runs in the browser.

Does Trim Video do this?

No. Trim Video keeps picture and sound in an MP4. This page drops the picture and writes an MP3.

Is the result actually shorter?

Yes. The encoder keeps only the span between start and end. It does not copy the whole file and change the name.

Which files can I add?

MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, and OGG. The download is always MP3.

I need the soundtrack from a video.

Use MP4 to MP3 for an MP4, or Extract Audio when you want WAV or AAC as well. Then trim here if the clip should be shorter.

Can the download stay WAV or FLAC?

No. Whatever you add, the download is MP3.

What if the end time is before the start?

The page will not process that range. Set the end later than the start.
