PNG, JPG, or WebP · under about 100 MB · stays on this device
GIF from Images builds one looping animation from still PNG, JPG, or WebP files — a short step sequence, a before-and-after, or a handful of slides. It is Local under about 100 MB total, using the same ffmpeg.wasm encoder as the video tools. Order is the order of the files; you can reorder them before processing. This is not Video to GIF, which cuts a movie. Afterward, Compress GIF can re-encode the animation, and GIF to MP4 can turn it into video. Transparent pixels in a PNG can survive in the GIF palette.
This tool is free to use.
Files under about 100 MB stay on this device. A larger file is not accepted on this page.
How to make a GIF from still images
- Add at least two PNG, JPG, or WebP files. The set must stay under about 100 MB.
- Drag the list if the frames are in the wrong order.
- Choose a frame rate (2, 5, or 10 fps) and a width (320, 480, or 640 pixels).
- Create the GIF. ffmpeg.wasm draws every still onto one canvas size, then encodes a palette GIF on this device.
- Download the single GIF. A movie you already have belongs on Video to GIF, not here.
GIF from images questions
Are the pictures uploaded?
No, while the total stays under about 100 MB. A larger set is refused on this page. ffmpeg.wasm runs in the browser.
How is this different from Video to GIF?
Video to GIF starts from a video file and a time range. This page starts from still images and never reads a video.
Do the images have to be the same size?
No. Each still is fitted inside the width you chose, with the first image setting the height. Extra space stays transparent.
Will a transparent PNG stay transparent?
The encoder keeps a transparent palette color when the frames have alpha. A JPEG has no alpha, so those frames are opaque.
Can I turn the GIF into a video afterward?
Yes. Open GIF to MP4. That page is also Local under about 100 MB, and transparency becomes a background color you choose.
How many images can I add?
At least two, and up to 24. The whole set must stay under about 100 MB.
Which frame rates can I pick?
2, 5, or 10 frames per second, and a width of 320, 480, or 640 pixels.
